When SEFE started their AI journey, it was about experimental approaches.
SEFE is a European energy organization that actually stands for Securing Energy for Europe. There were quite a few problems in their initial enablement of AI. The very first problem was that each AI use case looked like a completely different platform as problem number one. Problem number two was that they had a real struggle getting the AI use cases out of pilot or experimentation phase into production.
When SEFE saw AI adding significant value to the organization, they saw lots of bots and agents being created, but it was quite a disparate set of activities. So they decided to build a governed platform, a platform which provides standards, which fits into their security and compliance frameworks, which is robust and reliable for their organization.
So the original ambition was to bring this together as one single reusable component or capability that allowed them to accelerate, but without having to create a new set of fundamental projects with each business opportunity.
Indicium AI and SEFE initially engaged a couple of years ago on SEFE’s data platforms. Once you have that, it unlocks the power of AI. So it was a natural evolution for Indicium AI to be involved with SEFE, to be able to help co-develop their STAF platform.
The STAF platform brings an integrated layer that they can sit across their existing knowledge bases. They can very quickly onboard new AI tools without having to develop a whole new platform and a whole new foundation.
The STAF platform is a real value creator for the organization, which is not just about technology. It's not just about speed, but it's about reliability. As a security platform company they also need to provide secure AI solutions. And that's what STAF's giving SEFE. That ability to just focus on the business use case, not needing to care about the technical foundation is what makes STAF really special.
