Indicium AI’s New Global CFO Nick Storey on Fast Growth, Governance, and Building Finance for the AI Era

Indicium AI is scaling fast across AMER, LATAM, and Europe, and that pace needs global financial leadership to match. Nick Storey joined recently as Global CFO, having spent 12 years at global marketing agency Dentsu, most recently as UK & Ireland CFO. He brings the rare combination of large-corporate discipline and fast-growth instinct that this next stage of Indicium AI's journey demands.

Nick's experience and expertise will be instrumental in helping us deploy our growth strategy globally, sharpen our commercial rigour, and build the financial foundations to match our ambition.

From a global accountancy firm to a global marketing agency: a career built on growth

Nick trained as a Chartered Accountant at a global accountancy & professional services firm before moving into mergers and acquisitions, a path that took him to Dentsu, the global marketing and communications agency. What started as a role on Dentsu's in-house Mergers & Acquisitions team, acquiring small, entrepreneurial, owner-managed businesses across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, grew into 12 years across finance and commercial roles at both global and European level, most recently as CFO for Dentsu's UK & Ireland division.

"It was a really interesting journey at Dentsu, it was highly acquisitive and outperforming the market initially.” Fast growth and complex transformation is exactly what drew him to Indicium AI. "I've always wanted to step into the CFO role of a business going through that growth-build phase, and joining Indicium AI was the perfect opportunity to return to a fast-growth, entrepreneurial environment while leveraging everything I’ve learned about running a scaled business."

A new role for a business that’s coming together

Global CFO is a newly created position at Indicium AI, reflecting the scale of integration and growth since the business brought together Indicium from Brazil and the US, with the European business - formerly Mesh AI.

"My focus is leading the ongoing integration across finance and operations and, just as importantly, bringing a strategic view on our performance. " Nick says. "Ultimately I'll be responsible for the performance of the business, but to scale effectively, we must protect the momentum we have with our clients whilst building the operational and financial processes to support that growth.”

Asked what he's specifically hoping to bring to the business, Nick points to a balance between structure and speed: "It’s about striking the right balance, bringing in the right level of enterprise-level governance, structure, and compliance without sacrificing speed and ensuring the systems and structures are scalable.”

Four priorities for the next 12 months

Working closely with Global CEO Jacob Parsons, Nick has shaped his priorities for the year ahead, and lands on four pillars: driving top-line growth, strengthening financial management, improving commercial decision-making, and ensuring good governance.

"Number one is enabling top-line growth for the business - that's key," Nick says. "At the same time, we need better management of our financial performance: managing cash effectively, investing where we need to and being as efficient as possible."

A business that’s genuinely born and native in this space

For Nick, the appeal of Indicium AI comes down to three things: the industry, the business, and the team.

"It's obviously a really dynamic industry, moving and changing so fast, and to be in a business that's genuinely born and native in this space sets us apart from a lot of other companies trying to move their existing business into this area," he says. He's equally drawn to Indicium AI's entrepreneurial culture: "The dynamic of going through lots of change over the next three to five years is very exciting for me."

The third draw is more personal. "Beyond the broader business, there is a rare opportunity to build a truly AI-native finance and operations team. You don't get the chance to rethink how finance operates from the ground up very often. Leading a team that fully leans into what AI makes possible is an incredible opportunity for the years ahead ."

As Indicium AI moves through its next growth stage, having a CFO who has already lived through the full arc of a scaling business, from acquisitive growth to disciplined restructuring, gives the business a rare vantage point on what comes next. Nick's focus on pairing fast growth with the right financial and operational foundations is exactly the balance Indicium AI needs as it deploys its strategy across AMER, LATAM, and Europe.
