A Smarter Model for Talent Development
The Lighthouse Program is a paid, six-month experience for future professionals in Analytics Engineering and related fields. From day one, participants are immersed in real scenarios, learning by doing and contributing in a mentored environment. Every activity is designed for development, ensuring learning comes first. Unlike most data analytics courses, Lighthouse combines technical mastery with practical experience.
Quality and knowledge are at its core. Each week delivers high-impact content led by internal mentors and external specialists. Participants learn, adapt, and grow in sync with real business demands.
As an agnostic but opinionated company, Indicium prioritizes the best technology, not the most popular. That mindset shapes Lighthouse too. The goal is to build professionals who go beyond tools. Lighthousers think critically, communicate clearly, and solve problems using IndiMesh, our AI-powered framework that combines collective intelligence, proven expertise, and rigorous quality control to deliver faster, more scalable, and consistently high-quality data and AI solutions.
How the Program Works
Over five years, the Lighthouse Program has trained hundreds of professionals to become data scientists, analysts, and engineers. Some join Indicium. Others land high-impact roles across the industry.
The program runs in three stages, blending theory, hands-on execution, and personal development. Participants rotate through all of Indicium’s data domains: Data Analysis, Data Science, Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, and Data Project Management. They work directly on internal projects and client-facing projects, mentored by senior team members. Participants dedicate around 30 hours per week and receive a monthly stipend that ensures financial stability during the program. We believe no one should have to choose between learning and earning, Lighthouse was built to make this balance possible.
Stage 1: The Fundamentals
All participants receive foundational training in:
- Programming fundamentals (SQL and Python)
- Version control
- Databases and cloud computing
- Information security
- Communication strategies
- Project management basics
Stage 2: Technical + Business Journey
This phase deepens both technical and business skills. It combines advanced classes, challenges, real-world project assignments, and English practice.
Technical topics include:
- Infrastructure and deployment
- Data ingestion, storage, and processing
- Data transformation, orchestration, and automation
- Data visualization and analysis
- Artificial Intelligence (AI), model deployment, and monitoring
- Process design and optimization
The business track covers:
- Project and process management
- Data products
- Metrics and business impact
- Team management and communication
- Data-driven transformation
Stage 3: Soft Skills Journey
Knowing how to work with data is only part of what makes a great professional. Throughout the six months, Lighthousers grow essential interpersonal skills through masterclasses in:
- Leadership and collaboration
- Communication (sync and async)
- Emotional intelligence
- Adaptability and self-management
But we don’t stop at theory. Every topic turns into real-world challenges that participants must navigate through role-playing, feedback, and reflection. These are not lectures; they are high-stakes simulations that build confidence, maturity, and presence.

How to Join
The selection process evaluates technical ability, interpersonal skills, and alignment with our mission. Steps include:
1. Application with behavioral and technical assessments, plus English proficiency
2. Technical challenge based on area of interest
3. Final interview
We offer a free preparatory course (available only in Portuguese) for candidates interested in the program. The waitlist for the program is open for those looking to participate.

Lighthouse doesn’t just build skills, it shapes leaders. Today, 25 of our team leaders came through the program, including Tech Leads and Coordinators. That’s 21.2% of Indicium’s total leadership. In the Data & Analytics area alone, Lighthousers make up 38.5% of the leadership team.
Beyond technical growth, the program opens new career paths. Many participants join in their thirties, often looking for a meaningful shift into the growing field of data. For them, Lighthouse offers a clear and supportive entry point: a structured, paid opportunity to learn by doing.
Indicium is also committed to making tech more inclusive. One of our goals is to increase female participation in the program. Today, 38.6% of our Lighthousers are women, and we’re working toward reaching 50%. This effort brings more perspectives into the learning environment, strengthens collaboration, and helps move the industry toward a more inclusive and balanced future.
Real Stories, Real Impact
Beatriz Kenup is an example of what the Lighthouse Program’s journey looks like. With a background in Biological Sciences, Environmental Management, and Biotechnology, and a postgraduate specialization in Forensic Investigative Sciences, she joined Lighthouse in 2022 with a wish to change her career.
“I knew nothing about data. I only used Excel. The Power BI challenge during the selection process was intricate. But the program covered all the needed knowledge, and I acquired the skills to perform well in this field”, she explains.
She was surprised by the opportunity to be paid while studying, but that quickly turned into motivation. “Many times I had that fear of not being able to make it, but the team is amazing, and having hands-on experience during the process made me gain the confidence to keep going.”
After graduating, Beatriz joined Indicium as a Junior Analytics Engineer. “In the past three years, I had a couple of promotions and now I’m a Team Lead Analytics Engineer. I feel it was the best decision I’ve made. It was really rewarding.”
